Template library

WhatsApp template examples, by what they are for.

Ten use cases, each with a template, its variables, variants, when to send it and what gets it rejected. Every example passes our template checker; Meta still reviews each one.

Three categories, three prices.

Utility

About something the person did or needs: an order, a payment, a booking, an account. Non-promotional, by Meta's definition.

Marketing

Anything promotional or persuasive: offers, sales, new arrivals, welcome messages, cart reminders. Only to people who opted in.

Authentication

One-time codes, in wording Meta sets. No custom text, links, media or emoji.

Definitions from Meta’s template categorisation guide, read 30/09/2026.

Questions about WhatsApp templates

What is a WhatsApp template?

A message format a business gets approved by Meta before it can start a conversation on the WhatsApp Business Platform. It has a body with variables for the parts that change, and optionally a header, a footer and buttons. Replies inside the 24-hour customer service window do not need a template.

What are the three WhatsApp template categories?

Utility, for messages about the person's own order, booking, payment or account; marketing, for anything promotional; and authentication, for one-time codes. Meta charges each category at its own rate and decides the category at review.

Can I copy these templates?

Yes. Change the names and details to your business, keep the structure, and run your version through the template checker before you submit it. Meta reviews every template, so no example can promise approval.

Before you submit

The checker tests a template against Meta’s published limits and common rejection reasons, and shows it as it will look on a phone.
