REST hooks integration
Scenarios that start on a WhatsApp event.
Make (formerly Integromat) connects the same way as Zapier: a custom webhook module receives events, and an HTTP module calls the API.
How Make connects
In order. A person on our side does this with you during onboarding if you prefer.
- Receive eleven WhatsApp events in a Make scenario
- Send template or session messages from any module
- Read and update contacts, tags and attributes
- Post conversions so a campaign's revenue is attributed
- 1
Create an API key
In Settings, choose API keys, create a key with the scopes the scenario needs, and copy it once.
- 2
Receive events with a custom webhook
Add a Webhooks module in Make, copy its URL, and subscribe it to events through the REST hook endpoint or the Webhooks screen in Settings.
- 3
Send with an HTTP module
Add an HTTP module that POSTs to the messages endpoint with the API key and the template parameters mapped from earlier modules.
- 4
Run once to map the payload
Use the sample-data endpoint so Make learns the event's shape before real traffic arrives.
Route enquiries into a CRM
Message received starts a scenario that creates or updates the lead in HubSpot or Zoho and tags the contact with the source.
Daily digest to a channel
A scheduled scenario reads yesterday's conversions from the API and posts a summary to Slack or Google Chat.
Questions
Does Make need a listed app?
No. The Webhooks and HTTP modules cover every endpoint, with the API key in a header.
How are the webhooks secured?
Every delivery is signed with HMAC-SHA256 and a timestamp; the signature can be verified in the scenario or ignored for low-risk events.
Other integrations
Built on the developer platform. See pricing: integrations are included, not add-ons.
